As the midterms approach, the Left has gone nearly berserk in its hatred of trillionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk. Yet its escalating venom would have been almost inconceivable before 2022, when Musk publicly declared that he would be voting Republican.

Before Musk’s recent political reversal (he voted for both Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020), he was beloved by the Left as the first successful upstart challenger to the century-long dominance of the Big Three fossil-fuel automakers. Liberals once loved his revolutionary, electrically powered Teslas and drove them proudly as a green virtue signal.

Not now. Far-left podcaster Jennifer Welch has run out of Nazi epithets for Musk. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—ironically, given her own limited talents—trashed Musk as “probably one of the most unintelligent billionaires I have ever met or seen or witnessed.”

Conservative voices have long raised concerns over the demographic shift arising from high sustained migration from the Middle East and Africa, and new data confirms these fears.

According to data published by La Razón, cited by La Gaceta, the number of Muslims in Europe has jumped from roughly 15 million around the year 2000 to approximately 32.5 million today (excluding Russia and Turkey).

Statistics from the Pew Research Center align with this upward trajectory, reporting that Europe’s broader Muslim population – including Russia – climbed to 46 million in 2020, a 16 percent increase from 2010.

The Holodomor (meaning death by hunger) was a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine in 1932-1933 that killed millions of people, primarily Ukrainian peasants. It was part of a wider Soviet famine (roughly 1930-1934) that also affected parts of Russia and Kazakhstan, but the Ukrainian famine was intensified by specific policies directed at Ukraine.

Under Joseph Stalin, the Soviet leadership forcibly collectivized agriculture starting in the late 1920s. Peasants were compelled to join collective farms, “kulaks” (better-off farmers). Resisters were deported or repressed. Whole villages were blacklisted and their grain confiscated. An internal passport system and border controls were created that prevented peasants from leaving famine areas.

Mortality was hideous, peaking in the spring and summer of 1933. Today we have all the evidence of widespread starvation, mass deaths, and cases of cannibalism. All told, as many as 5 million died. It was a genocide.

What is especially remarkable about this historical fact is that no one in the West knew anything about it while it was happening. U.S. newspapers had reporters on the ground in Russia but they consistently wrote stories that either ignored or debunked the claims of famine.

A youth softball game in Sugar Land, Texas, turned violent Saturday, and a father is still in the hospital with a broken jaw, a fractured skull and three brain bleeds, according to his attorney. Police arrested Kiarious Marshun Hall and his wife, Jazmine Hall, after the fight at Imperial Park during a game between two 12-year-old select teams, ABC13 reported.

Charging documents say the dispute began over Hall’s behavior while the opposing team was at bat. Hall told officers another man from the Timbergrove Thunder approached him and said he “couldn’t cheer before the players pitched the ball.” Hall’s daughter plays for Illusions Gold 2033.

Investigators say witness video shows what happened next. Court records state Hall struck another father in the face with a metal water bottle, knocking him unconscious, then swung the bottle at a second man before the confrontation turned into a brawl. Hall claimed the men had “elbowed and poked his chest” and that he acted in self-defense, but court documents say the video does not show that.

China’s military is developing directed-energy weapons to attack U.S. military satellites in a future conflict, according to a new Defense Intelligence Agency report on space security threats.

The report made public this week states that the People’s Liberation Army views laser and other beam weapons as “ideal counterspace weapons” based on their ability to cause both reversible and nonreversible damage to orbiting enemy satellites.

“China has multiple ground-based laser weapons with varying power levels to disrupt, degrade, or damage satellites in [low earth orbit],” the report said. “By the late-2020s, China may field space-based directed energy systems and higher-powered ground-based directed energy systems capable of threatening satellites in higher orbits.”

And a totalitarian state can move at terrific speed. The People’s Republic conjures skyscrapers from the soil as if by magic, like some tremendous attempt to make up for China’s millennia of stasis. At the beginning of the pandemic, new hospitals sprang up in days. These scenes were reflective of the bigger picture: the PRC’s rise was one of the fastest in the historical record. Its fall could be similarly rapid. The combination of vast numbers and accelerated pace means the Chinese experience can show us our own future writ large: a bold-text, headline version of what will happen in the rest of the world; a vision seen in fast-forward.

The New York Times reported Wednesday that operatives around Democrat Mary Peltola’s Senate campaign spent months looking for a second Dan Sullivan to put in Alaska’s race against Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan, a plan the paper says worked. Peltola’s campaign denies recruiting anyone.

On Wednesday morning, The New York Times released a bombshell story admitting Alaska Democrats conspired with their Washington handlers to find a second Dan Sullivan to run for a Senate seat in hopes of confusing enough voters to back him and not incumbent Republican Dan S. Sullivan, which would throw the race to Democrat and former Congresswoman Mary Peltola.

Shamefully but unsurprisingly, CNN openly defended Alaska Democrats on Wednesday’s Inside Politics, repeatedly asserting “it’s not illegal” and “not new” for both parties to engage in “dirty tricks,” and that “the law is the law” that settles in the favor of Democrats.

Legacy media have been sounding the alarm about deportations in Texas, but they are leaving out key details, painting law enforcement as criminals—and criminals as the victims.

One recent example is an investigative article on police in the small town of Ingram, Texas. The Ingram Police Department joined Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s 287(g) program in 2025, which offers funding in exchange for enforcing immigration law—a major boost for a department with just two officers.

The Texas Tribune profiled Officer Jaron Alexander, who made traffic stops that caught illegal aliens and sent them to federal authorities. As a police officer, he enforced the law. Within a year, he and the town’s only other officer referred a whopping 10% of the town’s population as illegal aliens. The worst thing the outlet dug up about Alexander was allegations of affairs, which he denied.

The real shocker is that illegal aliens allegedly make up at least 10% of Ingram’s population. In fact, Latinos make up 45% of the town’s population—to the point that some have begun calling it “mini Guanajuato,” after the central Mexican state from which many of them came. But this wasn’t the headline for The Texas Tribune. Its story line was that Alexander enforced the law. Since when is a police officer doing his job newsworthy? Many communities across Texas participate in the 287(g) program, including Tarrant County, home to Fort Worth. One wonders why left-wing media would pick on a small town like Ingram.

In the past five years the institutional discussions surrounding climate change have shifted noticeably from “net zero” goals (zero net carbon emissions from target countries) to a more mercenary debate over carbon taxation. The question on everyone’s mind is this: Who gets the most access to those delicious climate funds?

Who gets access to the cash is less important than who gets to manage the cash, but we’ll get to that issue in a moment.

The recent COP30 event held last week in Brazil was largely focused on wealth redistribution with a lesser emphasis on carbon reductions. Climate “financing” is the name of the game, and COP30 was largely a squabble over which countries will get the most access to the various carbon taxes and donations collected by global intermediaries. In fact, the conference was largely considered a failure.

Leftist Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota should be investigating the claims of a sprawling welfare-fraud network tied to the state’s Somali community – schemes that reportedly funneled taxpayer dollars overseas, including at least one terrorist group. Instead, her office’s social media team attempted, one day before Thanksgiving, to launch a propaganda campaign on affordability on X that backfired spectacularly, culminating in a humiliating Community Note that exposed her sheer cluelessness.

Klobuchar’s X post attempted to blame the entire power bill crisis on President Trump, with a graphic showing a parabolic line rising to the right that would alarm anyone.

“Under President Trump, electricity prices are surging — up 11%! — leaving millions behind on their utility bills, with past-due balances at an all-time high,” Klobuchar wrote on X, adding, “American families deserve better.”

The Community Note read, “Joe Biden was President from January 20, 2021 – January 20, 2025. Also, this chart is not representing the cost of electricity. It is showing the average past-due balances of Americans, which soared since 2022 under Joe Biden’s presidency.”

The campaign of Alaska Democrat Senate candidate Mary Peltola helped recruit Dan J. Sullivan to enter the race to draw votes away from her Republican opponent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan, the New York Times reported Wedmesday.

According to the Times, Elisa Rios, Peltola’s former campaign manager and longtime aide who was fired in August, said Peltola was “definitely aware” of the plot to recruit Dan J. Sullivan, who is running as an independent in the closely watched race that could help decide control of the Senate.

The plot, beginning in the summer of 2025, reportedly involved Peltola’s campaign and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

“Alaskan voters need to know,” Rios told the Times. “There was a lot of speculation, and voters should get the full picture when making their decisions.”

“The Alaskans for Mary campaign has no involvement with either Sullivan campaign and did not recruit any candidates into the race,” the campaign wrote in a statement to the Times.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee also told the Times that it had “no involvement” in recruiting the other Sullivan “or any other Republican candidate.” The committee did not immediately respond to the Daily Signal’s request for comment.

Last Friday, the Justice Department sued Alaska to block certification of the state’s U.S. Senate race . The administration alleged in an Oct. 23 complaint that the presence of Dan J. Sullivan on the ballot caused confusion.

“The sole purpose of [Dan J. Sullivan’s] candidacy is to benefit the Peltola campaign by reducing the number of votes for Senator Sullivan,” the DOJ complaint said.

The image is conjured of a nation of Lords and Commoners, a feudal drama played out on grouse moors and in the shadow of unaffordable housing.

The American Medical Association Foundation has revived racial preferences in its scholarships for medical students, the watchdog Do No Harm alleges.

Do No Harm sent a letter to the IRS in April, noting that some of the foundation’s scholarships explicitly stated that only medical students of certain races qualify. While the foundation initially removed the scholarship opportunities from its website, it appears to have restored them.

“Simply put, these valuable and lucrative scholarship opportunities cannot be awarded based on race,” Dr. Kurt Miceli, chief medical officer at Do No Harm, told the Daily Signal in a statement Tuesday.

“The AMA Foundation has done little to remedy the substantial problems identified in our original complaint regarding its Physicians of Tomorrow program,” Miceli said. “Months later, race-based scholarships remain in place, having undergone only superficial changes.”

The AMA Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the largest professional association of physicians and medical students in the United States. Its Physicians of Tomorrow program provides scholarships for medical school students.

The Minnesota Court of Appeals ordered six guilty verdicts reinstated in a $7.2 million Medicaid fraud case, overturning a judge’s controversial decision to acquit a healthcare company owner after a jury found him guilty.

On Monday, the three-judge panel rejected Hennepin County District Judge Sarah West’s ruling that Abdifatah Abdulkadir Yusuf may have been unaware of fraudulent activity at his company, Promise Health Service LLC, the New York Post reported.

Yusuf was convicted in August 2025 after prosecutors showed that his company submitted more than 40,000 fraudulent Medicaid claims between 2019 and 2022, including bills for healthcare services never provided.

A federal judge in Chicago sentenced Parth Nayi, 29, of Woodridge, to two years in prison and a $50,000 fine on Thursday for organizing staged armed robberies so the people “robbed” could apply for ‘U visas’ (which are reserved for crime victims who help police), according to the DOJ. Nayi pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit visa fraud.

The government says migrants paid Nayi between $5,000 and $30,000 for each fake robbery. He hired the robbers, coached the fake victims on how to report the crime to police, and then helped them apply for the visa, which is open to victims of certain crimes who cooperate with law enforcement and can lead to permanent residence. The staged holdups hit restaurants, liquor stores, gas stations and coffee shops.

One of them went wrong. On July 13, 2023, a “robbery crew” entered Bucktown Food & Liquor in Chicago, and one of the robbers accidentally fired his gun, shooting a 26-year-old clerk in the abdomen, according to CWB Chicago. The clerk survived. The shooting is what began to unravel the operation.

State legislative races this cycle could determine how elections are run for decades, with the potential for future laws on voter ID, undermining the Electoral College, noncitizen voting, and ranked-choice voting.

States could have enough votes after the elections to trigger the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, according to a report by the conservative group Honest Elections Project Action. Under the compact, a state would give its electoral votes to the national popular vote winner of a presidential election. The compact takes effect only if participating states can contribute a total of 270 electoral votes.

After Virginia entered the compact, the current member states collectively hold 222 electoral votes—just 48 votes away from 270. Five states outside the compact currently have divided government but appear to be leaning Democrat in legislative races: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Arizona.

“Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are perennial presidential battlegrounds with 61 electoral votes between them,” the report says. “Each has divided government today but could become a Democrat trifecta on November 3rd.”

The report, released just one week before the midterms, contends the state legislative races “will decide what rules will govern the 2028 presidential election.”

Black Baptist parents in Maryland are suing local and state agencies after losing custody of their son in a transgender dispute. They say their son eventually attempted suicide while in foster care.

The parents, listed in the lawsuit as Mr. and Mrs. John Doe, sued the state’s Department of Human Services, Prince George’s County Department of Social Services, a social worker, the foster mother, and other officials earlier this month. They claim that officials treated their Christian faith as evidence of parental unfitness because they did not support LGBTQ identities.

“The Does’ faith and religious liberty brought the weight of their own government against them,” Amos Jones, the parents’ attorney, told the Daily Signal in a statement Monday. “We are calling on Governor Wes Moore and County Executive Aisha Braveboy to correct this affront to Christian families in a county full of traditionalist black megachurches.”

The son, who was diagnosed with autism, had engaged in self-cutting, and the parents took him to Children’s National Hospital, Jones told the Daily Signal. The staff there began referring to the son by a female name and referred him to Prince George’s County Child Protective Services.

According to the lawsuit, authorities removed the son from his parents’ custody and placed him with a foster mother. After some time with the foster mother, the son attempted suicide, and ended up in the hospital. The parents also claim their son had been carried across state lines without their knowledge.

Almost 90,000 immigrants have tried a legal maneuver to escape detention, but an appeals court ruling just significantly undermined that part of the Left’s anti-deportation strategy.

ProPublica has tracked 89,170 cases in which immigrants filed writs of habeas corpus, challenging the lawfulness of their detention or imprisonment. The scale is extraordinary. Immigrants filed more habeas cases during the first 13 months of Trump’s second term than during the previous three administrations combined.

The cases aren’t materializing in an institutional vacuum, either. A network of advocacy groups has developed litigation resources, turning habeas corpus into a major front in the fight over President Donald Trump’s deportation program.

However, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit on Friday ruled that detention without a hearing does not violate the due process rights of immigrants.

“The ACLU and the Left oppose immigration detention because they know it often results in deportation,” Lora Ries, director of the Heritage Foundation’s Border Security and Immigration Center, told the Daily Signal on Tuesday. “The Left opposes deportation because it erodes their political power.”

This dispute dates all the way back to 1958, when Congress, worried about juvenile delinquency in the aftermath of the then-scandalous movie “Rebel Without a Cause” (which involved a knife-fighting scene), passed the Federal Switchblade Act of 1958.

This act prohibits the knowing introduction, manufacture for introduction, transportation, or distribution into interstate commerce of any switchblade knife, which is defined as a knife that opens automatically by pressing a button or applying pressure to the handle or by inertia or gravity or both. Think of a butterfly knife.

Anyone who violated the act could be fined up to $2,000, imprisoned up to five years, or have both punishments applied.

Fast forward 66 years after Congress passed the Federal Switchblade Act, and a group of plaintiffs challenged the act’s provisions, arguing that they violate the Second Amendment, which broadly guarantees the right to “keep and bear Arms.”

Quelle surprise. On Saturday night, a mass shooting broke out at the Florida A&M homecoming game. Eleven people suffered gunshot wounds, with a twelfth injuring an ankle in the rush to flee the scene. Half of the victims are minors, with one just 11 years old.

Police arrested one alleged perp late yesterday and announced it this morning. They took a 15-year-old suspect into custody and charged him with attempted murder, but police say more arrests will come. The shooting started as a fight between two individuals.

By the incompetence of the shooting I suggest that the perpetrators were Children of Color, especially since race or ethnicity aren’t mentioned in the few reports one can find online..
