CAIR’s letter comes after Abbott sent a letter referring Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport and the George Bush Intercontinental Airport to the DOJ for an investigation into alleged religious discrimination.

Police in Minneapolis reportedly raided the apartment of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s son and seized firearms before arresting his roommate.

Law enforcement sources told Alpha News that a search warrant was carried out at the home of Omar’s son Adnan on Tuesday night.

According to the outlet, they recovered guns and ammunition from the home and arrested his roommate Abdulrahman Abdi, 22.

Earlier that day, the city’s police department said in a statement to the Daily Mail that they conducted a traffic stop and cited Abdi for no proof of insurance and no license.

The department said that Abdi was released at the scene and the vehicle was in the process of being impounded when a firearm was found inside.

Officers later tracked Abdi to an address on Marquette Ave where they said they arrested him ‘without incident.’

Abdi was later booked into Hennepin County Jail on a weapons charge before being released on Wednesday night, records show.

The move stalled the directive for a second time only about a week before the first mail ballots are due to be sent out for the rapidly approaching midterm elections. U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani blocked the government from implementing the order for two weeks.

On Wednesday, Meta agreed to a record $18 billion settlement with nearly every US state over claims that its social-media platforms were deliberately designed to addict children and teenagers. But the enormous financial payout is surprisingly less consequential than another part of the agreement: For the first time, Meta is being forced to build meaningful barriers between children and the products it has spent years carefully designing to keep them online.

The changes are significant. Accounts belonging to users under 18 will face “productive pauses” that interrupt prolonged scrolling, restrictions at night and during school hours, stronger parental controls and limits on social-comparison features such as beauty filters and visible like counts. These changes undercut these companies’ built-in features designed to make these platforms so difficult for children to put down in the first place.

An Atlanta elementary school teacher has created a designated “fart corner” where students can pass gas without leaving class or interrupting lessons, according to NBC.

Second grade teacher Candy Sydney Browning calls the area the “gas station,” while the specific spot is known as the “gusty winds area.” Students can quietly get up, walk to the corner, take care of business and return to their seats without asking permission.

Sydney Browning came up with the idea after noticing that bathroom trips and students reacting to classmates passing gas were taking time away from lessons. She had already started encouraging students to use the restroom before lessons so they would not need to leave as often. Passing gas, however, created another distraction. Students would point fingers, move away from one another and announce who they thought was responsible.

Rather than treating it as something embarrassing, Sydney Browning wanted students to understand that passing gas is simply a normal bodily function. “It’s normal,” she told them. “But you have to excuse yourself.” Creating a specific area gave students a discreet way to do that without stopping the lesson.

The new study from researchers at Rutgers University, the right-leaning Manhattan Institute and Network Contagion Research Institute found that those normalizing transgender beliefs were more likely to be supportive of political violence.

Fifteen New York country sheriffs filed a lawsuit Wednesday challenging the state’s “Local Cops, Local Crimes Act” and the newly created Office of Immigrant Trust for being unconstitutional efforts to prevent them from working with federal immigration officers to ensure public safety.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York on behalf of the 15 sheriffs who have existing 287(g) agreements to cooperate with federal agencies that enforce the nation’s immigration laws.

They also filed an emergency motion seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to stop New York from voiding existing 287(g) agreements on August 25, 2026, and from forcing the termination of federal housing agreements by November 25, 2026.

The new “Local Cops, Local Laws Act,” which was promoted and signed by Democrat New York Governor Kathy Hochul, prohibits local law enforcement agencies and local correctional facilities from entering into, remaining in, or extending 287(g) agreements or contracts to house individuals for civil immigration violations, the lawsuit explains.
